My name is Laurel McWilliams. I am Registered with Health Coach Alliance of Canada as a Health Coach and Nutritional Counsellor, and I am Certified as a Functional Nutrition Coach.
I take a personalized approach to support your journey toward better health through tailored nutrition and lifestyle strategies. If you choose to work with me, we’ll begin with an initial session where we explore your past experiences—both the wins and the setbacks—to better understand your unique challenges. Together, we’ll unpack the beliefs you hold about making changes to your health, and gently explore any doubts, fears, or obstacles that may be standing in your way.
I’ll provide you with a clear understanding of root causes and mechanisms of disease and nutritional guidance to help you to make informed decisions regarding your health choices. There’s no judgement and it doesn’t matter where you may be on the health spectrum, the only intention is to get you toward the result you want. To feel healthier.

It’s not about taking away the foods you love, it’s about finding substitutions that serve you better. We will also incorporate movement which is key to reset metabolism and helps you to keep your blood sugar stable. You ultimately decide what’s doable for your busy schedule and health status. Together, we can plan weekly actionable steps to prepare your body to switch into fat burning mode if losing weight is your goal. I recommend ongoing weekly follow ups for the first month to help keep you on track and accountable to yourself. Each weekly 30-minute follow-up will allow questions you may have and what’s working and what’s not. Feedback is helpful to incorporate and adjust new weekly actionable goals.
It usually takes a few weeks to start to notice small shifts and changes within. Over time, you may notice more energy, better sleep patterns and changes in the way that clothes fit. Getting healthier doesn’t have to be hard, only consistent.
Don’t worry, you can still enjoy food with treats! I don’t believe in dieting. I do believe in nourishment and delicious foods that will satisfy you, fuel and sustain you throughout the day.
You can improve your health when you are ready to commit to a way of life that involves eating ample amounts of delicious and nutritious foods, drinking good quality water, managing and reducing stress, incorporating daily movement, mindfulness, the art of sleep, and feeling happier.
We start with small gradual changes to your diet, to ensure you get the right kind of nutrients to fuel yourself and incorporate lifestyle practices that work with your schedule. You may be surprised to hear that a few changes can yield huge benefits for improving health. The body has the potential to heal and reverse declining health such as gut issues, sleep issues, glucose spikes and blood sugar levels, liver and metabolic diseases, skin conditions, autoimmunity, food sensitivities, chronic fatigue, hormonal changes, changes in mood, pain and more.
